Does it even matter what I write? I mean, is that the coolest picture of a steak you’ve ever seen? You’re going to try this recipe just because of the picture. It’s beautiful…and so is this Bison Steak recipe.

I previously posted a Grilled Bison Strip Loin Steak recipe where I used marinade for extra flavor. For this bison ribeye I decided to go more natural and just use spices.

"Grilled

I used my homemade beef rub, which is a recipe I haven’t shared yet…but will have to soon. It’s basically a combination of salt, pepper, garlic, and onion. It’s similar to McCormack Montreal Steak Seasoning. Basic, but delicious on beef…or bison.

I added one extra ingredient that I’ve read is a “secret” to bringing out delicious flavor in bison: Lemon Pepper. I’m not sure of the science or logic behind it, but many recipes call for lemon with bison, so I sprinkled some on.

"Plated

With the right combination of basic flavors and searing at high temps to medium doneness, this steak is absolutely awesome. It really doesn’t need anything else. Hey, I’m all about marinating – you know that – but sometimes simple is better.

If you haven’t tried Bison Steak yet, this is the perfect basic recipe to get you started. I’m not going to guarantee you’ll love it…but if you don’t, you have taste bud issues.
