If you like salmon, you will LOVE this. If you don’t like salmon, well, you really should try it again.

I have been known to pick salmon over a steak. And, I. Heart. Steak. But there’s something about salmon I just can’t resist – maybe it’s the soft texture that just melts in your mouth. Or perhaps it’s the buttery taste that can make me salivate if I just think about it.

As a child, I don’t think I ever had salmon, so I can’t say if I liked it or not, but I’ve ended that cycle. My 2-year-old devours it. My 9-year-old asks for it. If my single digit children like it, surely you-adult reader-can give it a shot.

A good intro into salmon would be in burger form. The salmon flavor is masked. Just remember as you’re taking a bite, this is NOT red meat. If you can appreciate the flavors as something other than a beef burger, I guarantee you’ll enjoy this. The pineapple glaze is good enough to drink. I’m pretty sure Kevin did.

Again, you can make your own ground salmon like we did with our Grilled Salmon Burger With Lemon Sauce – if you get a fresh salmon steak, have the butcher grind it, or bring it home and use your food processor, or you can even get out some aggression and use your own two hands.

"Salmon

An important step to remember in this process is to grill it on top of foil. The salmon wants to crumble – it’s just so tender and moist. Keeping it on a bed of aluminum foil will make everyone happier, including the burger.

So branch out and try something new tonight!
