Weber Q1200 Jambalaya: Breakfast of Champions!

I have been having a ton of fun cooking on my Weber Q1200. The Q is a very small gas grill that packs a punch!

This morning I decided to fire up the Weber Q1200 and see if I could use it to make some jambalaya for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at what a great idea that turned out to be!

I started with one pound of Cajun sausage, 2.5 cups of turkey stock and a box of Louisiana brand jambalaya mix.

I placed a 10 inch cast iron skillet on the Weber Q1200 and set the grill to High. After 15 minutes of preheating I added the sausage which had been cut into 1/2 inch sections.

I let the sausage brown, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes. When the sausage had the color I was looking for I added the turkey stock and jambalaya mix.

I let the brew simmer and gave it a stir every five minutes or so to keep any rice from sticking to the bottom of the skillet. The High heat setting was the perfect temperature for simmering the rice in the turkey stock.

It took about 30 minutes for the rice to get tender and the jambalaya smelled amazing while it was cooking. In the end the finished meal looked beautiful!

Talk about a great way to start the day! This is a classic Louisiana breakfast 🙂 I am pretty excited to see what other rice dishes I can cook on this grill.

Like I said..I am having a great time playing with this little Weber Q!

Peace!
